Yesterday on social media, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement posted screenshots of a cancellation email sent to agents who had planned to stay the night at a Twin Cities area hotel.
ICE Agents Denied A Hotel Stay In Suburban Twin Cities
According to a post yesterday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement a Minnesota hotel canceled room reservations for agents looking to spend the night. The online post sparked more than 5,000 comments and nearly 3,000 shares as of this afternoon.
Accompanying the photo of the cancellation notice was a sentence, tagging the hotel brand Hilton, asking why the federal officers' reservations were cancelled.
"Hey Hilton — why did your team in Minneapolis cancel our federal law enforcement officer and agents' reservations?"

Since the online post, the hotel involved in the cancellation and the Hilton brand itself have responded, and stated: “We have been in direct contact with the hotel, and they have apologized for the actions of their team, which was not in keeping with their policies."
Online Journalist Refused A Room Monday Night At The Same Hotel
Later on Monday night, an online journalist, Nick Sortor, attempted to book a block of rooms while posing as a Department of Homeland Security employee, asking the hotel employee if they offered a government discount. The clerk asked what agency Nick worked for, and he stated DHS. It was then that the employee told Nick that the hotel wasn't accepting Immigration, ICE, or DHS agents.
The employee's response contradicted what was reported earlier in the day, stating that the hotel was now allowing agents to stay. You can watch the video below.
