A new business owner in Central Minnesota took to social media today to ask that the online smear campaign end. Much of the post to social media from the new owner of the Palmer House Hotel, Restaurant, and Pub outlined that the slander campaign stems from misinformation, and that it really needs to end.

The new owner of The Palmer House Hotel, Restaurant, and Pub is Dave Schrader. Dave took a moment to hop on social media to educate the misinformed and to welcome anyone and everyone to stop by his establishment.

To those that have sworn that they love The Palmer House Hotel, Restaurant & Pub but will never visit again because I am the owner and somehow feel that I did another potential buyer wrong by purchasing it, you should know, I spoke with the other potential buyer who wished me well and has repeatedly told me they are happy knowing that if anyone else was going to get, that it was me.

I have shown that person nothing but kindness and respect.

If you have a bone to pick with former owners, they are gone, it is in good and loving hands and you aren't punishing me by not coming back, you are punishing yourself, if you truly love the place.

Just know, our doors are always open and we will welcome you back someday should you decide to return.

Until then, I respectfully request that you stop slandering me. I've done nothing but step up to be the next caretaker and to do my best to assure that this grand ol' lady will be around for the next caretaker as well and to be an advocate for the city of Sauk Centre and the many fantastic businesses and people of this city.

Instead of assuming you know me, my motivations, etc, come in, shake my hand, let the past be the past and get to know me and see for yourself the love and respect I have for The Palmer and her future.

The World Of Social Media Can Be A Very Negative Space

If you've spent anytime on social media recently, you might have noticed that it isn't for the faint of heart. In many cases, it seems to be a world of 'my opinion is right and everyone else is wrong'. It sucks.

For a brief period, about a decade ago, I worked with Dave, filling in for his producer when he was doing a show called Darkness Radio in the Twin Cities. Dave was one of the most genuine and kind individuals I met working in the Twin Cities, and from what I've read recently, it still seems to be true.

6 Photos You Won't Believe Were Taken In Minnesota

After having spent the greater part of the last three weeks outside Minnesota, it has been great to be back. We live in a very beautiful part of the country. From the North Shore's jagged cliffs to the rolling croplands of southern Minnesota and to the driftless area near Preston, our state is filled with beautiful sights. I managed to find 6 photos that were taken right here in Minnesota, but when you look at them, you'd think they were taken somewhere else completely. Let's enjoy the land of 10,000 photos, shall we?
