Central Minnesota Bar Making A Change To Produce More Pickles
A Central Minnesota bar known for award-winning Bloody Marys is making a little change that could have big implications. The Red Rooster in Genola is transforming the small building next to the bar and changing it into a pickle kitchen. Here's what we know so far.
Making More Horseradish Pickles
The Red Rooster in Genola is making a move to be able to produce more of its horseradish pickles, meaning hopefully more locations that carry them. According to the bar on social media, the small garage/building near the bar is being cleaned out and is being transformed into a pickle kitchen, allowing Courtney and Amy Guck to produce more horseradish pickles for distribution.
According to the social media post:
"Exciting things on the horizon! So, you know our garage that sits directly next to the Rooster? Well, what has been the garage since Hup built the new Rooster building in 1999 is no longer going to be our garage. What are we up to now? Electrical work has begun on our new dedicated commercial kitchen for Red Rooster Horseradish Pickles! With the expansion into our seventh retail location this week, we’re needing a much larger space before we can expand into our planned distribution routes!"
More Than Bloody's At The Rooster?
With the move to expand the Red Roosters pickles, the bar is positioning itself as being a place that offers more than burgers, beer, and bloody's. Currently, you can find the Red Rooster's Horseradish pickles at:

Von Hanson's Meats in Waite Park and Baxter, RJ's Meats in Hillman, Thielen's Meats in Little Falls and Pierz, and Milaca Meats in Milaca.
There are three flavors of pickles available: horseradish, jalapeno, and garlic.
