Wildfire Smoke From Ontario Reaching Across Minnesota Skies

Right now, across Minnesota, many of us are looking outside and seeing a haze. On top of the haze, when you step outside, you'll also end up smelling smoke. The smoke and haze is coming from wildfires that have not only shut down the BWCA in Northern Minnesota but are also raging across Ontario, including near Thunder Bay.

A dramatic video shared by railroad employees shows the moment that the train they are on gets surrounded by flames.

A Reddit post from a railroading group caught my attention this morning as it seemed to show a few guys inside a locomotive surrounded by flames. It wasn't until after I read the full post that I understood exactly what was happening.

Thankfully, the guys got out safely, but it wasn't without some issues. It seems they had to run the final three miles after the truck they were in caught fire.

According to CTV News there are more than 200 wildfires burning across Ontario.

Wildfires Expected To Continue 'Until It Snows'

KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities shared on Wednesday eveing a briefing from a NWS meteorologist saying that the fires will most likely continue burning in Northern Minnesota, until it snows.

While many of are hopeful that we see some rain to help battle these wildfires, it's more than likely something we will be dealing with until we see some snow, which can happen as early as mid-October for that area of the state.
