Olive Garden 6 Best & Worst – Do You Agree?
I love it when these "studies" come out. It's the ratings given by.... insert whomever or whatever study is done. And who knows who actually answers these studies. I can tell that within all of my years on this earth, I have never once been asked my opinion on anything. Except, of course, political calls. YIKES!
This time, the study comes from Tasting Table and Chowhound. So, if you follow them, and you were asked to take a pole on this subject, then you are part of the group deciding on these entrees from Olive Garden.
6 WORST TO THE BEST ENTREES AT OLIVE GARDEN
Here are the 6 - see if these are the same ones you would choose.
- 6. Lasagna Classico: Ranked lowest due to soggy pasta, a tart and sweet tomato paste, and a plastic-like cheese layer.
- I think the soggy pasta comes from it being made too soon, and it's just sitting there if no one orders it. Pasta does that.
- 5. Ravioli Carbonara: Placed fifth because of an oily butter sauce and bacon that tastes overly salty.
- This would be an easy fix. Change the sauce! Make it possibly more cheesy or something.
- 4. Chicken Alfredo: Features well-cooked chicken and al dente noodles, but held back by a frothy and salty sauce.
- Again, it seems like an easy fix. Who wants a salty sauce?
- 3. Five-Cheese Ziti Al Forno: Offers a balanced five-cheese marinara and toasty cheese topping, though the pasta leans a bit mushy.
- Again, the pasta being mushy - it's just pasta that is overdone.
- 2. Shrimp Scampi: Praised for generous, crisp shrimp, tart tomatoes, and asparagus, though it could use a bit more garlic flavor.
- I have no extra opinion on this - I don't like hot shrimp. You try it, or not.
- 1. Chicken Tortelloni Alfredo: Ranked as the best entree with perfectly cooked, herbaceous stuffed tortelloni, tender chicken, and a thick baked Alfredo crust with breadcrumbs.
- And finally - the best one - how can you actually go wrong with this one? Maybe use this alfredo sauce for the Chicken Alfredo mentioned above. Then maybe you wouldn't find it so salty.
WEIGH IN - WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PASTA/SAUCE COMBINATION
What is your favorite pasta/sauce combination? Before I went to Italy earlier this year, I would have told you that my favorite was Chicken Alfredo. Now, I would say it's the bolognese sauce with thick noodles.

One thing that I have found to be the case at most chain Italian restaurants, is that the noodles are usually overdone. I feel like they should be cooked as they are ordered. They only take about 6 minutes when done correctly. Just my opinion.
