SARTELL (WJON News) -- The Sartell City Council will vote on approving agreements for the Ditch 13 and Grizzly Lane improvements at Monday's council meeting. The council will vote to approve the survey agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. and the geotechnical evaluation agreement with Braun Intertec Corporation.

In the spring of 2023, the city was awarded $2.5-million through a State of Minnesota Emergency Flood Bill to help mitigate flooding impacts along Ditch 13, and in late 2023 approved preparation of the final design, plans, and specifications of the Ditch 13 portion of the project. In July of last year, the council approved the Ditch 13 Stabilization and Grizzly Area Conveyance Improvement Plans and authorized bidding.

This summer, the city received more than $1.7-million from the MPCA Implementation Stormwater Resilience grant for flood improvements along Grizzly Lane. The council awarded the construction of the Ditch 13 Stabilization project on August 26th and the construction of the Grizzly Area Conveyance Improvements on September 9th. The Public Works Department has been involved with the project and recommends approval of both agreements.
