Winter in Minnesota can feel long, and families often look for ways to get out of the house without breaking the bank.

I found an event that offers exactly that! Here is a chance to unplug, get some fresh air, and connect with your kids outside, and maybe even learn something new.

THE UNIONS SPORTSMEN'S ALLIANCE FISHING EVENT

The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance is hosting a 'Take Kids Ice Fishing' event on Saturday, February 21st, at Lake George Regional Park in Oak Grove.

This is a chance for families to get outside together, try something new, and spend quality time together without spending a dime.

ICE FISHING IS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

There’s something special about watching a bobber, waiting together, and celebrating when a fish finally bites, and then pulling the fish up through that small hole in the ice.

Events like this are a perfect reminder that some of the best family memories don’t come from expensive trips or fancy gadgets. Sometimes, all it takes is a bucket, a hole in the ice, and a little patience.
