Kyle Rudolph Organizes Essential Goods Drive in Minneapolis
Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph organized and lead an essential goods drive in Minneapolis on Friday.
Rudolph enlisted several teammates as well as other Minnesota sports figures to come together and help support areas of South Minneapolis affected by recent riots and looting, by collecting and distributing much needed goods.
The event was held in the parking lot of Cub Foods on East Lake Street in Minneapolis.
On the Vikings website, Rudolph said:
We can all learn that the color of your skin should not determine opportunities, success … we should all be treated the exact same. I'm fortunate I play for a team that has invested in this, and I've learned so much over the last few years from listening to my teammates who have grown up with these problems and been in these situations.
The day was spent collecting items from people showing up to contribute and donate, then taking those items and handing them out to people who came to the event needing help.
