For the most part, you don't expect garbage cans to be "pretty". They are the place where things that are unwanted go, and are usually found in neutral tones to allow them to be inconspicuous. Not in Little Falls. The vibrant community has vibrant garbage cans to match.

Kristina Vonberge has been working with the visitor's bureau in Little Falls for eight years. She wanted to add something extra to the downtown area that is full of historic buildings. A group decided to add informative window clings featuring historic pictures from Little Falls past, as well as the colorful garbage cans, fun bike racks and unique benches to the area.

Most of the items were funded by Five Wings Art Council and The Initiative Foundation, and partnered with Great River Arts to find artists. What a wonderful way to brighten up the town, highlight local artists, and help keep the streets litter-free.
