Put Your Face on Bob Dylan, Prince Or Any Other Famous Person

There have been quite a few apps that can morph your face on to almost anybody. Pick a photo or a gif, and the app can put your face on it.

A new app has come our that can not only do this but does it the best that I've seen yet.

It's called REFACE. It has you take a selfie and imposes it on to a GIF (generated image format) to see what you would look like if you were that person. Basically, it's your facial features, blended into the face of some famous person.

How I Found Out About It

A friend sent me his REFACE images, and the result was a mixed bag. He said that people told him he looked like Scott Baio when he was young. The images looked pretty good. His Al Pacino worked as well.

Some others were really hit or miss. Tom Cruise (Top Gun) was weird but not terrible. Jeff Bridges (Big Lebowski), was a little more creepy.

I Finally Caved

I don't usually download these apps because it's some fad or the latest and greatest whatever. But I actually caved in. Let's just say it was one of those..." the let's have some fun and try it" moments. Or maybe this COVID craziness influenced me. I don't know what caused it, but I'll plead insanity if asked.

The Results

You might be disappointed, but you could be surprised by the results as well.  The technology is pretty impressive. It really depends on the selfie you took and the gif you're putting it on. Some just do not match. But occasionally they blend really well together -- almost too well.

So I decided to see what it would be like to be some famous Minnesotans and a couple of other famous movie scenes. How weird can it get? This weird...

As far as technology goes, the app fits my picture in this GIF nicely. As to how it looks, I'll let you be the judge.

I was told many times when I was a teenager, that I looked like the Karate Kid (I had hair then).
