Mackenzie's Boutique in Sartell is closing its doors.

It comes as a shock to some, but the owner posted on social media, a video explaining the reasons behind why she is closing her boutique.

IT'S TIME FOR NEW ADVENTURES

Carolyn Bous is 59 now and has been thinking about closing the boutique for about a year. 'Economically, financially, mentally, the stress; it has just been a lot. 2025 brought a lot of changes with traffic, and it's not sustainable anymore,' Carolyn said.

MACKENZIE'S BOUTIQUE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS OVER 16 YEARS

Although the boutique has been in business for over 16 years, she feels that it is now necessary to close. 'When you own a small business, working 6 days a week, business is on your mind 24/7; it can get a little hard, and at this time, I feel it is time for a change,' she said.

She is sad about the boutique closing, but also excited about the future, full of new opportunities and new people to meet.

CLOSING DATE STILL PENDING

She thinks she will be closing the store around the 18th of April, 2026, unless it sells sooner than that.  She will continue to do videos every day on social media until the store is closed. The videos were her son's idea, and are something she has been doing ever since he suggested it.

USE YOUR GIFT CARDS SOON

She is inviting everyone in to use their gift cards before she has to close, and asks that you share the word with your friends and neighbors who may also have gift cards, so they can use them.

PUNCH CARDS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED

At this time, she cannot accept punch cards anymore because she is going to be offering such great discounts that you won't need them anyway. There will also be no more returns or exchanges from this point forward.

THANK YOU TO THE CUSTOMERS

She loves her customers. She recognized the honor and privilege it was that her customers shared their personal stories with her.

BOB AND LINDA FUELING

Although Bob has passed away, Carolyn was so thankful to have Bob in her life, and Linda as well. They are the owners of Westside Liquors. The Fuelings were like family to Carolyn, and she couldn't thank them enough for all they had done for her over the years.

A FAREWELL PARTY IS PLANNED

Mackenzie's is going to have a farewell party, Saturday, March 28th, from 1 to 5 pm. There will be lots of vendors on hand, and drinks will be provided by partner Bernicks.

'Please always think of our military service men and women; the people that are out there fighting for our freedoms. We owe everything to our service men and women. Pray for their safety, send them positive vibes, and wherever they are in the world,' she said.

Finally, she said, 'Shine your light, and love one another. Treat people the way you want to be treated.'

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
