As soon as you arrive, you’ll see why this is one of the city’s top destinations. It consists of two lovely gardens along the Mississippi River, which include colorful flowerbeds, a pond, trees, and a picturesque gazebo. It’s a lovely place to catch a few tranquil minutes in nature.

I stopped out to Munsinger Gardens just this week, and even though I drive past it all the time I usually don't take the time to stop and enjoy it. This week I did and I forgot just how relaxing and beautiful it really is. Even my quick 15-minute walk around there left me feeling lighter and happier. There is a vibe to that place that is unmatched by anything else in the area. It's the perfect place to kick off this road trip.

Several of the quarries are now popular swimming destinations. But even if you don’t swim, the picturesque paths around the cliff-lined quarries are absolutely beautiful. This is a central Minnesota hidden gem and one that everyone should visit at least once.

With over 600 acres to explore at Quarry Park, it'll feel like you are on a fairytale adventure as you trek the trails, going from bogs to giant granite cliffs in a matter of minutes.
