Minnesota Made the Top-15 in Miss America Pageant 2019
Meet Miss Minnesota, Michaelene Karlen. She is from Rochester, a professional dancer, model, founder of her own skincare company, Ballerina Botanicals, and founder of Raise The Barre. She has been dancing since the age of three and graduated from the Ailey/Fordham University Bachelor of Fine Arts program in New York City.
Last night she competed for the title of Miss America in Atlantic City. After the preliminary round, she made it into the top 15 contestants! This year the pageant was ran a little differently. They opted out of a swimsuit competition, and the girls are now in charge of asking each other on stage interview questions.
Miss Minnesota was asked a question about why she chose her talent to perform. She was going to dance for her segment, but unfortunately did not make it to the top 10.
The good news is that she is still an awesome role model for girls in the state of Minnesota. Her platform is all about getting kids access to be involved in the arts, and the positive impact it can have on their lives. You can learn more about Michaelene Karlen and Raise the Bar here! Congrats on all your hard work Miss Minnesota!
