The University of Minnesota's venerable mascot Goldy the Gopher is getting a new bobblehead made in his likeness. The collectible, made by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, will feature Goldy doing his signature push-ups.

At University of Minnesota football games, Goldy climbs atop a platform and does one push-up per Gophers point on the board. The new bobblehead features a counter that allows fans to keep count of all of the pushups Goldy does.

"We’re excited to unveil this unique Minnesota Golden Gophers Push-Up Counter Bobblehead in conjunction with the start of the 2024 college football season,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a press release sent out Thursday. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Minnesota fans to follow along as the Golden Gophers put points on the scoreboard each week for many seasons to come and a great way for fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride all year long!”

Goldy Gopher has been appearing on the sidelines of Gopher football games since 1952. In addition to the push-ups bit, Goldy is also known for spinning his head around in circles when prompted by the Minnesota student section.

The bobblehead, of which only 2,024 will be produced, is set to cost $40 plus $8 for flat-rate shipping.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
