Summer time is quickly approaching us (it’s about time) and you know what that means? It means grilling, bonfires, and parties. But most importantly, summer is the best time of the year to catch live music.

It seems like from June through August there’s a cool concert to check out every night of the week. I love it. And although I’m a fan of bigger acts with outrageous stage productions, I also love the local music scene. Minnesota actually has a rather rich community of local musicians and artists, and they’re all worth listening to.

One of the groups I’m looking forward to seeing this summer is The Plott Hounds. They’re a groups based out of Minneapolis that covers country, rock, alternative, and blues tunes. Talk about diversity. They’ll be performing on three different occasions on June 7th, 14th, and 21st at Lakeside Park (Big Lake.) All three performances kick off at 7 pm and admission is free.
