Someone cut the cables of KSTP's cameras during a live newscast in downtown Anoka Monday.

Monday evening, KSTP reporter Kirsten Swanson and her news team were reporting from downtown Anoka on the recent aof Minnesota bars and restaurants that have been verbally warned for breaking Stay Safe protocol. They were set up at Danno's -- one of 14 bars/restaurants around the state warned -- when their shot was dropped. They soon discovered why -- someone had cut the cables connecting their cameras to the news truck.

Many have expressed their shock and disapproval, including WCCO reporter Marielle Mohs, KXAN Digital Photojournalist Todd Bailey and celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern.

Danno's joins 13 other Minnesota establishments that all received written warnings for violations of Minnesota's Stay Safe guidelines and requirements:

Nearly 920 establishments were inspected during a nine-day period (July 4-13) reports KARE 11. Violations included employees failing to wear face masks, failure to adhere to social distancing guidelines including tables distanced six feet apart, and serving at more than 50% capacity. Violations could lead to fines or loss of an establishment liquor license.

The owner of Danno's in Anoka said he agreed with the warning letter, admitting, "I actually had a regular... who noticed that the employees didn't have their face masks pulled up all the way over their nose. So she expressed a concern and I take it very seriously. We got the letter and I spoke to someone with the state and it was a very constructive conversation. The state is very cooperative and wants to see us succeed, and just set out some guidelines and expectations and we were operating at half capacity, and I dialed it back to even less."
