More Legal Woes for Former Viking Player – DWI Arrest

Ya know, you would think that when you have money - in other words you have enough money to live and also enough to afford some things that not everyone else can, that these types of things wouldn't happen.  Like - hire a driver!  Although, there are plenty of ride share options.

Here we go again with Vikings players with legal issues.  This has been a plague for several years, but the things that stick out to me the most is the "love boat", Tommy Kramer way back in the day DWI issues, and there are several more that I haven't mentioned here.  But there was a time, fairly recently, where the Vikings were leading the NFL with legal issues and arrests.  

This time, it's a former Viking player.  Adrian Peterson, who arugably was the best running back in the league, as had his share of legal issues.  The last BIG one was the child abuse situation.  Spanking with a "switch".  And by the way, the visuals for that have been sealed.  With good reason.

Now, just last night, Adrian Peterson, who was at the Draft party at US Bank Stadium, was arrested for 4th degree DWI. What exactly does that mean?

From KARE 11:

Hennepin County records confirm that the 40-year-old Peterson was arrested for fourth-degree DWI and booked into jail at 5:15 a.m. He was released just over two hours later at 7:30 a.m. The Minnesota State Patrol says a trooper stopped Peterson's Audi Q5 after clocking it doing 83 mph in a 55 mph zone around 3:20 a.m. on southbound Highway 77 near 66th Street in Richfield. 

He was released on a $4,000 bond.  He will have to return to court for another appearance on May 9th.

As I mentioned above, there is no reason why someone like Adrian Peterson can't hire a driver if he wants to drink as some NFL event... or anywhere.  I know that this can happen to anyone, but when you are a famous person, this is what happens... it becomes news.  I don't know of anyone who would want that.

Hopefully he gets the help he obviously needs.
