When this movie was first being discussed, we heard a lot about a special teenager from Lakeland, Minnesota.  Lakeland is located just East of the Twin Cities.

Zach Sobiech was born in 1995.  He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when he was 14.  He passed away when he was 18 in 2013.  But the time in between there is what this movie is focused on.  Zach was a singer/songwriter, and  wrote a very special, memorable song "Clouds" the year before he passed away.  The YouTube video went viral.

The movie has the same name as the song, "Clouds".  This was mostly shot in Canada, but you may remember a fundraiser at the Mall of America last December.   Pre-pandemic.  There were rumors that some footage from that fundraiser may end up in the final cut.  Here is the trailer for the movie, that comes out this Friday.

There is also a Zac Sobiech Osteosarcoma fund (Children's Cancer Research Fund).

You can see Zach's complete story on that site and donate there as well.  Apparently treatments for the rare form of cancer that Zach had haven't improved much at all.  And Zach wanted  his legacy to change that.

The movie "Clouds" will be released this Friday.  Showings will be streaming on Disney +.

Also check local listings for theater releases.  Since the pandemic, this will be limited.
