My thoughts on "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

So, the trailer for “Solo: A Star Wars Story” was recently released. I’m approaching this spin off with cautious optimism. I love Han Solo more than almost any other character in the Star Wars universe. I literally cried the first 5 times I saw him die in episode 7. But I’m sincerely frightened for the future of the franchise. It seems like Disney is going to release a new Star Wars film every 6 months, and I fear that characters that we all know and love will get shoved down our throats so much that it’ll ruin the experience. On the other hand, it’ll be pretty sweet to see how Han, Lando, and Chewbacca all meet. And of course, how Lando loses his prized Millennium Falcon to the dankest smuggler in the galaxy. I pleaded with the universe after watching “The Force Awakens” not to take Han away from me, so I guess in some way, I got what I wished for. Alden Ehrenreich ain’t no Harrison Ford, but he’ll have to do. “Solo” comes to theaters May 25th, 2018.
