A new chicken franchise that recently came to America is looking for franchisees to jump-start its entry. Would St. Cloud be a logical landing spot for the relatively new to the US franchise?

With Slim Chicken's closing its doors there is an open building with a quick service footprint waiting to be used, so why not take a chance on this relatively new to the US franchise?

The brand's recent entry into the US was back in 1998, and currently, 14 states have a Jollibee location. Jollibee is from the Philippines, and last Monday, the restaurant put out a press release indicating that they were looking for interested franchisees, as the business was making its US debut.

Global restaurant sensation, Jollibee, recently named "the best fast-food fried chicken" in America by USA TODAY, announced the launch of its first franchising program in the U.S. Best known for its mouth-watering Chickenjoy fried chicken, chicken sandwiches and other delicious menu items, the quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain is the flagship brand of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), also known as the Jollibee Group, one of the world's fastest-growing restaurant companies. Jollibee is seeking high-caliber, multi-unit franchisees, who can not only bring operational expertise and development capabilities, but also share its passion to bring the joy of eating to everyone.

The signature dish from Jolibee is called Chickenjoy, which is described on the Jollibee website as being chicken that "is delicately hand-breaded to be crispylicious on the outside, with a secret marinade making it juicylicious on the inside."

The franchise doesn't just offer up fried chicken for those interested in trying the brand, there are traditional Phillipino items, like a Ube Pie, think sweet potato pie but purple, as well as choices you might not expect at a chicken restaurant like spaghetti. The Jolly Spaghetti is described online as: "Bursting with flavor and nostalgia for people with roots in the Philippines, our sweet tomato sauce is balanced by savory notes of garlic, onions, and a hefty dose of ground beef and sliced hotdogs."

Where would it go?

Why not look to use the spot where Slim Chicken's was, or there are mall options for Jollibee franchises, so the Crossroads Mall would be another great spot for a Jollibee franchise.

I know people will say we've already got too many chicken restaurants, but this one has other options, which would set it apart from some of the other restaurants in the market.

Currently, there aren't any Minnesota locations listed as future sites, and there are also no franchises open in Minnesota.
