We all know gas prices have been dropping like a rock lately, and it's usually Costco and Sam's Club that have the lowest prices in town.

Hold on, not so fast. There is a different gas station that has decided that since gas prices are dropping anyway, and it's likely to continue to drop, they might as well go ALL IN and be the first to go below the $1 mark in the St. Cloud area.

Congratulations to the STOP N GO on Clearwater Road on the south side of St. Cloud. They didn't have to under-cut Costco by that much, but they did. The employees told me they thought it would get more people there, and you can't argue that.

We all knew this might happen for over a month now, but when I saw it, I was shocked. But, admittedly, a little giddy. It was a strange feeling. It was a feeling that it was cool that I witnessed this, but I also felt guilty for feeling this way, knowing what was contributing to this historical situation.

So, of course, I had to stop by and fill up. Besides, it was the pure curiosity of it. I had to see this for myself and get some photos, just in case I tell my future grandkids this story, and they say, "Sure, and you walked uphill to school both ways, right?" I'll have proof.

As you can see by the picture, I had to put in 14 gallons of gas into my car -- and yes, it was $14! That's math from a radio guy...so...mic drop.

Naturally, the place was busy, and even more so because they only had one pump running. The other pump had the yellow tape in front of it. Otherwise, they would've been even busier. There wasn't a moment that a car wasn't filling up with fuel. It sounds like the word got out.

Honestly, even if I didn't need much gas, I just had to check it out. It was indeed a memorable situation.

Now the question is, how long do you think it'll last? To be honest, I hope not long, at least not under our current conditions.

Stay healthy, and stay sane, my friends.

David
