New Costco In Otsego: What is the Timeline

We are heading into the summer months. As some people always say. Minnesota has two seasons. Winter and Road Construction. And honestly, that is not far off from the truth. Since we do have winter, which seems to sometimes drag on for many months more than it should, we have to cram every road construction project into about 4-5 months. And some are years long because there can't be any work done during those winter months.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE LAST FALL

Right now, there is a major road construction project near Albertville.

Stage 2 will begin in spring 2026, reconstructing the corridor from the I-94 ramps to east of Lymon Avenue. Temporary bypass lanes will keep County Road 137 open during most of the work, though short closures are possible. This stage is expected to finish by mid-August, followed by trail and restoration work through late October.

WHEN IS THE NEW COSTCO IN OTSEGO SET TO OPEN

So, Costco is still set to open this coming October - early Fall. That might aleviate some of the business of the Maple Grove Costco, which is the busiest in the state, and also St. Cloud. Hopefully. There will be one more option available inbetween the two other locations.

If you want early entry into any of the Costco Warehouses in the area, get the executive membership. Other than the first time, and sometimes there is a deal for that too, you will never have to pay full price for a membership again. The Executive Membership gives you money back on your purchases. I don't think I have paid more than $30 since we have had the membership going back about 12 years. Plus, you can get into Costco an hour earlier than the normal store hours. That is huge!

Anyway, look for a new Costco to open early this Fall in Otsego, Minnesota.
