With "normal" life feeling like a distant memory, it is reassuring to see stories of people doing what they can to help other people. Hats Off Coffee in Long Prairie was recently the recipient of a wonderful act of kindness.

On Friday May 8th, a patron of the coffee shop donated $100 so that the shop could take $1.00 off the next 100 people's orders.

Hearing about the donation, another local business wanted to get involved. The Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce shared the good news on Facebook:

The giving spirit is in Long Prairie!

CTC, our local board band provider in town, just called Hats Off Coffee; they were inspired by the $100 donation and matched the $100 - so now it is $200 available total.
Thank you to both parties who donated to our local coffee shop- Hats Off Coffee.

And that is how 200 people got a discount on their coffee from a local shop. This is such a great idea for small businesses. It encourages people to patronize a local shop, they get a delicious treat, and it might even inspire them to pay it forward themselves.

Hats Off Coffee is located on Central Ave in Long Prairie. What makes this local shop so special is that it isn't just coffee being served up. It also has one of the largest hat selections in Minnesota and a plant nursery. There is a lot going on at this locally-owned shop. If you are ever in the area it is worth a stop.
