My Offbeat Wish For Paul McCartney’s Minnesota Show [OPINION]
What I am about to suggest will probably not be popular. Heck, among some people it might cause laughter while for others induce rage. But, I come in peace with the following soft ask:
What if Paul McCartney did a solo work/Wings-heavy tour? Instead of the eight Wings songs and 22 Beatles songs (not to mention the 18 solo numbers on the setlist), let's reverse the ratio, if only for one night... preferably here in Minnesota!
I've seen Sir Paul twice and both shows provided memories I will have for the rest of my life. From singing Hey Jude with 45,000 people at Target Field to hearing Let Me Roll It with my little brother in Milwaukee, I can remember almost every moment of both of the shows.
Purely magical evenings both times with dozens of songs you know by heart being sung by a voice you've heard throughout your life.
Sir Paul still BRINGS IT after all these years, with a show nearly three hours long. No intermissions, no 'guitar solos' for ten minute water breaks, the man just plays and plays all night long. It's truly a marvel to behold.
COME ON YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO
I understand that the type of show I am proposing, which my brother dubbed 'Oops All Wings,' would bother 64,995 out of the 65,000 folks at US Bank Stadium on October 17th, 2025. But I believe its time to think about the little people who want to hear "Venus and Mars" in its entirety, front to back.
Am I getting too demanding?
All jokes aside, how cool is it that we have the chance to see the most legendary living rock star on the entire planet right here in Minnesota for a seventh decade?!
