You know, I feel bad for drummers. Every cliché’ music joke ever usually ends at the expense of the drummer. Poor guys. They have one of the most important jobs in the band but they can never seem to catch a break.

Guys like Ringo Starr and Lars Ulrich have been public targets for years. But hey, every now and then you see one of those stick swinging meat heads climb to the top. Dave Grohl is probably the best modern day example.

But long before Dave there was the one and only – Phil Collins. Phil was the guy who showed us all that drummers could go on to outshine their band mates and do quite well for themselves.

The guy could sing, write, AND lay down a nasty beat behind the kit. He had it all. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Mr. Collins, but it looks like he’s getting back in the game.

He’s preparing to embark on his first North American tour in 12 years, and he’s playing Target Center on October 21st. The show kicks off at 8 pm and you can get a ticket online now for a cheap as $75.
