When I heard that the  Saint Cloud Polar Plunge is coming up this weekend. It brought back memories of the year I volunteered to do the Polar Plunge in Duluth, MN back in 2006. At first I was like “this sounds like fun”. I still remember the morning of the Polar Plunge it was much colder than usual. I thought we below zero temp and an aggressive windchill I thought the event was going to be canceled of postponed.

The Polar Plunge was happening they had to move the plunge from the lake to an over-sized pool in the parking lot of Grandma’s Sports Garden in Canal Park. I remember thinking "can I actually do this?" And I did. It was fun and for a great cause (Special Olympics Minnesota) . Would I do it again, heck no. There is not enough alcoholic beverages in the world that could get me in a swimsuit in the middle of winter and jump into an ice cold lake.

I know that the cold doesn't stop everyone. Maybe it's on your bucket list or maybe you are just passionate about the cause. Either way, I am proud of your decision to help support an awesome cause. I will be cheering you on from my couch, wrapped in a blanket, and watching Netflix.

If you think you would be up for the challenge this event you can check out more details at their website. The Polar Plunge is happening the day after Valentine’s Day, this Saturday, February 15th at noon. The event is being held at The 400 Club, Lake Road, Saint Cloud, MN 56301.
