Looking for wings and a good time this weekend? Look no further than downtown Pierz, as the Pierz Area Commercial Club is hosting its 2nd annual Walkin' Wings contest, as well as adding a Kansas City BBQ Society-sanctioned event, on Saturday.

Last year, the inaugural year, Walkin' Wings was a hit. I had the opportunity to take it in, and there were plenty of other people enjoying different sauces on top of chicken drummies.

Last year's winner Tipsy Smoke walked away with $1,500 and a trophy.

This year there will once again be a People's Choice Award and an overall winner. If you'd like to vote for People's Choice it's a dollar a ticket, and you drop your 'vote' in a bucket. The proceeds from the event, other than the prize money, goes to the Pierz Area Commercial Club.

New this year is the MN Masters BBQ event in addition to the wings contest.

The MN Masters BBQ event will also be on Saturday but isn't open to the public to sample, but you can come and watch these masters of the BBQ work their magic during an officially sanctioned KC BBQ Society event.

The wings event runs from 10a - 6p in downtown Pierz, and the BBQ event will also be happening during that same time frame for those who want to come and watch.

You can see a full list of the professional team participants on the Walkin' Wings website, as well as find other information about the event, here.
