Sartell ‘Rolls Out’ New City Employee
My son is six and he LOVES to mow the lawn for us. Yeah, yeah... I know things will probably change when he gets older, but for now we just let him do his thing.
We have a push-mower, so he gets a little jealous over the neighbor's zero-turn mower. I will admit that it does look fun and convenient but I will also admit that I am cheap, so I tend to keep things until they don't work anymore.
While he likes the zero-turn mowers, he loses his MIND when he sees a cool robot mower rolling around someone's lawn. He BEGS for us to get one to the point of annoyance, but it is not going to happen.
The good news for my son is that the City of Sartell has rolled out its new employee, 'Kress,' which is a robotic mower that will cut the lawn on city property.
"Have you seen our newest employee, Kress, working at City Hall? The City is proudly demoing Kress the robot lawnmower courtesy of a local company. It is totally automated- GPS controlled, it has an alarm that alerts its co-workers if it gets stuck or flipped over, and when its battery is low, it goes "home" to recharge...just like us human employees! We appreciate it if you give Kress a little room as it gets a little upset when people get too, close!"
