The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for a large portion of Southern and Central Minnesota until 9 AM this morning.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch includes Kandiyohi, Mcleod, Meeker, Renville, Sibley, and Wright counties in Central Minnesota.

Large hail, heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, and a few tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area this morning.

From the National Weather Service this morning: A line of strong thunderstorms is moving east at 60 mph. This line has a history of producing damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph.
