When the weather gets chilly, I immediately want something warm to eat.  And generally that warmth is brought in the form of soup or chilli.  The creamy soups are my favorite, but of course almost any of them would be great.  Chicken noodle?  Yes, please!

So, if you are hunting for some of the best soups in the area, where do you go?

If you are interested in a quick cup of soup while you are commuting from one place to another, or heading to the hunting shack, stop in at Kwik Trip.  They have a variety of soups and usually a chilli offering that is pretty good.  Especially for something self serve, and fast.

If you are in the St. Joseph area, stop in at Sal's on Minnesota Street.  There is always a great soup offering.  And also, the choices change daily.  But I've never had a bad bowl of soup there.  Always great, homemade soups at Sal's.

While in St Joseph, you may want to stop into Bello Cucina too.  They have some great Chicken Wild Rice and/or a Zuppa Di Giorno along with some delicious salads.

These are some reviews for the area restaurants from Yelp

Bo Diddley's - always great soups, and grab a sandwich or a pita while you're there.

Great Harvest Bread - They have a variety of soups available.  The cup or bowl of soups also comes with a slice of Great Harvest Bread of your choice.

Panera Bread- Yelp says that the Chicken Noodle is great

Erbert and Gerbert - Yelp says the best soup at this sandwich shop is the Tomato Parm

Olive Garden - This one made the Yelp list because of their Zuppa Toscana soup.

Lake Cafe - If you are heading through Big Lake, might want to stop and grab a bowl of soup along with their breadsticks and salad bar.
