A hard worker and loyal companion of the Stearns County Sheriff's posse is retiring after nine years on the job.

Aspen has been part of over 400 cases both in Central Minnesota and across the nation. In 2012 she helped find a missing child in St. Stephen, and in 2018 she was even certified through the FBI Response Team for missing persons cases in Virginia. Aspen has such a good nose on her that she once sniffed out a four-day-old track to help find a missing University of Minnesota student in Minneapolis.

This past Christmas Aspen got to have some fun tracking down and capturing the Grinch to prevent him from stealing Christmas from Central Minnesota. You can see that video below.

A Facebook post announcing her retirement had a comment section filled with well-wishes:

Sarah Moulzolf: Thank you for your service Aspen! She is the sweetest dog and I hope she has a nice retirement.

Marlene Mueller DeBoer: Aspen, beautiful dog enjoy every minute of your retirement. Well deserved.

Lindsay Cheeley Bell: Your service is appreciated, Aspen!

Theresa L. Ruggles: Enjoy sweet girl and thank you for your service!

What a good, hard-working girl. And look at how proud she is of that badge. Thank you Aspen, I hope your retirement is full of belly rubs, treats, and long naps. You deserve it!
