Stephen Hawking Passes Away On Pi Day

Stephen Hawking, who many had considered to be the Albert Einstein of our time, has peacefully passed away at the age of 76 in Cambridge, England. Very few minds have ever rivaled Professor Hawking's insight and intellect. Although I won’t elaborate in detail here, his work on black holes was absolutely astonishing.

A simple YouTube or Google search will attest to that. What is rather synchronistic about his passing, is that he passed away on Pi Day, of all days - which also happens to be Albert Einstein's birthday. If you aren’t familiar with Pi Day, it’s the day of the year when the date (March 14^th, or 3.14) coincides with Pi (also 3.14, roughly.)

Pi is a number that can be found in several formulas in math and physics. It seems to possess a universal, intrinsic value. Although Professor Hawking was a materialist and a skeptic, one can’t help but marvel at this little piece of cosmic irony. Maybe I’m over-thinking it all, but it’s synchronicities like this that make me think twice about the world we live in.
