District 742

A St. Cloud high school was sent into lockdown by a man allegedly making threats outside the building.

St. Cloud School District 742 is hosting a job fair Tuesday September 28th from 4-6 p.m. at the Quarryview Education Center. St. Cloud School Board Chair Shannon Haws joined me on WJON today. She says there is a labor shortage right now and they are looking for full and part time employees.

The St. Cloud school district saw a slight decrease in students to begin this year, compared to last year.

The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E Foundation and St. Cloud Area School District are partnering to put books in the hands of kids.

The St. Cloud Rotary Club has been involved in a number of major initiatives in recent years and their latest one is helping to get more kids access to preschool.

District 742 will be requiring all PreK-12 grade students and staff to wear masks to start the school year.

The new St. Cloud Co-op sports teams have unveiled their new logo.

St. Cloud Schools is planning to continue with full in-person learning this fall. St. Cloud School Board Chair Shannon Haws joined me on WJON today. She says they will follow the guidance from the state and state health department in regards to COVID-19 and at this time full in-person learning is recommended.

Starting Wednesday, meals will be delivered by school bus to neighborhoods near all area schools.

The St. Cloud Area School District has reached a tentative contract agreement with its teachers' union. The contract is for the 2019 and 2020 school years.
