Teacher Of The Week: Bonnie Van Heel Of St. Francis Xavier
Congratulations to this week's "Teacher of the Week," Bonnie Van Heel of St. Francis Xavier in Sartell. Vanheel is the principal at St. Francis Xavier and was nominated by Sondra Behrendt, who notes Vanheel's willingness to go above and beyond for her students and school.
Mrs Vanheel has gone above and beyond for our school community this year. We see you Mrs Vanheel! We see you mopping floors, cleaning up spills, nursing sick little ones, taking temperatures, directing traffic, bleaching surfaces,serving lunch and so much more. We see you counseling parents to alleviate anxieties and communicate new protocols for covid. I can only imagine the hours you have put in to helping this school year be as safe and comfortable as it can be for our kids. We see you Mrs Vanheel- we see you staying positive, calm and collected as you communicate each action needed to parents and students. Thank you for being a hero who has to make hard decisions. thank you for being a role model for the students.thank you for your sacrifices in helping to raise our kids.

Nobody knows what this school year will continue to be like. But one thing we know is that we want to continue to recognize teachers in Central Minnesota, even if it's in an empty classroom. We are ready to adjust to whatever situation presents itself.
