It's been a hot summer in Minnesota, at least compared to last year. Our state averages eleven 90+ degree days per year. So far this year, we've had nine. Last year we had four.

Bananarama "Cruel Summer"

This song not only feels like summer, but it makes me think of the movie Karate Kid. It's a great summer song.

Mungo Jerry "In The Summertime"

Shaggy covered/sampled this song back in 1995. It makes you feel like it's summer, even if it's the middle of winter.

Keith Urban "Long Hot Summer"

I'm not a huge country music fan, but I do like some songs or artists. And I LOVE Keith Urban. He's a fantastic guitar player, his songs are catchy, and I enjoy the lyrics in them. There's just this positivity about his songs. It's not about pickup trucks, drinking, and girls in tight shorts.

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince "Summertime"

Will Smith's lyric "this is the Fresh Prince's new definition of summer madness" is perfect and the definition of a summer song. I love driving around in the middle of the summer season with this song on high volume.

Sublime "Doin' Time"

I cheated here. I know summer is not in the title but is known as the "Summertime" song. Because people that hear but don't know who it is or the name, search "summertime song". This might be my favorite summer song ever. It just has this awesome, relaxed, summer groove to it.
