A new study done by Zippia has been released and revealed that Budweiser is Minnesota's favorite beer. To which I say, "wrong".

Zippia based their findings off of internet search data, and Budweiser was Googled the most in 27 states.

We started with a list of the 70 most popular beers. From there, we took to Google search data to find the most searched for beers. Slowly (and quite painfully) we narrowed it down to the top 10.

From there we simply good used Google Trend’s data platform to find the beer of choice in each state.

While it seems like they had a formula for this, I have a hard time agreeing with the results.

As an ex-bartender, and someone who has spent enough time in bars working gigs and hanging out, I'd say the most popular beer in Minnesota would have to be Busch Light or Michelob Golden Light.

I then start to think about attending a get-together, and there is always Busch Light or Mich Golden as options. They are crowd-pleasers. If there is a Budweiser option it's usually a Bud Light. People who bring Budweiser to a social gathering are bringing it in a small cooler just for themselves because they know their personal beer brand won't be available.

I know this "Budweiser is our favorite beer" result is based on real internet data, but overall I think the real-world data says otherwise. What do you think? Share your thoughts on this with me on our mobile app.
