A Minnesota brewery is going into the 'hotel' business, as they will be renting out rooms for the night. The brewery's owner announced the news on social media last week, and it seemed like people we excited for the chance to stay overnight at the historic brewery.

Montgomery Brewing Company, in Montgomery, will be hosting overnight stays. The brewery owner, Charles Dorsey, announced the news last week and the early take away was that it seems to be something people want.

The brewery, which operates in the town of 3,500 people, is filling a need as the city doesn't have a hotel. So visitors to the area, especially during their summer celebration of Kolacky Days, have to stay with friends, family, OR get a hotel 40 minutes away in Faribault.

Dorsey wrote that the brewery will eventually have three spaces for people to rent for the night, but only one is available right now.

The 'Bottling Department' is 1500 sq. ft. with two beds, a TV, wi-fi, and is, of course, just steps away from the brewery itself.

Having lived in Montgomery for a few years, it is nice to know there is now a local option to stay the night. Before this option, if we were going to visit, we'd have to get a room in Faribault, Mankato, or Shakopee. New Prague, 8 miles to the north, does have some places you can stay, but if it's a big enough event, those rooms go fast.

Will other breweries in other smaller cities follow suit? It would be a different form of tourism, that's for sure.

The brewery itself is a spot for many to gather, as they will host musicians, street parties, as well as offering up NA options and soda for those who choose to abstain from alcohol.

You can learn more about the brewery by heading to their website, here.
