The MN Twins made history Monday with their first triple play at Target Field.

If you missed Monday night's home series opener against the New York Yankees, you missed one heckuva game.

With Yankees runners on first and second base with no outs, the Twins turned their first ever triple play in Target Field history.

Baseball writer and MLB.com researcher David Adler shares, "Edwin Encarnacion took 4.66 seconds to get from home to 1st, which is just a fraction of a second longer than it took the Twins to turn a triple play on him."

Twins Communications and Player Relations specialist Dustin Morse notes that it was the Twins 13th triple play; it was their first at Target Field.

And, just in case you want to watch it again...

The Twins host the Yankees for Game 2 Tuesday night at 7:10pm and conclude the series Wednesday at 7:10pm.
