A local favorite barbecue restaurant is switching locations this week, which will lead to a temporary closure as they set up shop in their new digs.

Up In Smoke BBQ is moving from its current location at 2nd Street South (near Liberty Bank) in St. Cloud to a new spot at Marketplace Mall in Waite Park (near Fuji).

Up In Smoke will close at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and re-open in a few weeks. The new location will feature more seating and a revamped menu that is set to include breakfast a few days a week to start with.

In addition, Up In Smoke is hoping to add a liquor license.

The locally owned restaurant is known for its giant chicken wings, prime rib, ribs and 'shotgun shells,' which are manicotti tubes stuffed with Italian sausage, beef and cheese. The tube is then wrapped in bacon, smoked, then glazed with honey pineapple barbecue sauce.

Up In Smoke is also the sponsor of 'What Are We Talking About' on The River. Every weekday morning at 7:30, callers have a chance to win $25 to Up In Smoke by guessing correctly!
