A local barbecue favorite is closing its doors this week.

Up In Smoke BBQ of Waite Park has decided to close its doors on Sunday, September 27th.  The restaurant opened in February of 2023 in St. Cloud and moved to its current location in Waite Park earlier this year.

WHY IS UP IN SMOKE BBQ CLOSING

“Thank you to all of our patrons, whether you were a regular guest, a monthly guest or someone who stopped by to try us out,” owner Tim Hoefer said. “Our food was always fresh and never frozen because we always wanted to serve a great product and we know going out for BBQ is a treat these days.. we thank Central Minnesota for choosing us.”

Hoefer said there were several factors leading to the decision to close, with one of the biggest being an accident involving a food truck that took some time to clear up through insurance and held up some of the restaurant’s funds during a period of anticipated growth.

WHAT TO DO WITH UP IN SMOKE GIFT CARDS

Up In Smoke BBQ was a sponsor of 96.7 The River as well. Those with gift certificates or gift cards must use them before Sunday, September 27th.

If you have a Value Connection certificate for Up In Smoke BBQ you are encouraged to use it before Sunday, September 27. Guests may use multiple Value Connection certificates per order during this time.

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
