Summer... it's the time when you want to get out and have some fun in the sun...especially when you live in Minnesota and it seems like Winter is forever.  But, thanks to COVID-19, this might not happen, unless you live on a lake or have a pool in your backyard.

This was posted Monday of this week on the Edina Aquatic Center website:

Due to the health and safety challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Edina has closed the Edina Aquatic Center for the 2020 season.

Full refunds will be processed for season passes.

We look forward to seeing our patrons in Summer 2021!

What a BUMMER!  I mean, I think we all get it, but it's something that we all look forward to, especially when it gets hot.  And even looking into next week, we are forecast to see our first 80s of the season.

I am guessing that most area pools will be closed.  What if you live in an apartment complex that has a pool- will that be closed too?  My guess is, yes, it will be closed.  If social distancing continues throughout the season, they will probably have to be.  How about pools in a community?  Again, probably the same rules will apply.  There hasn't been an actual decision that has been made public as of yet, but it's probably coming.  I know that this is a day by day, week by week and sometimes month by month decision depending on the event.

It's going to be the year of NOTHING.
