This "Spring" has been crappy.  No other way to put it.  When a person thinks of Spring they certainly don't think about the kind of weather we have had for the last week or so... mostly the whole Spring.  Its really been a roller-coaster of weather temperatures and precipitation.  But we continue to live here.  Why?

Turns out, according to the website WalletHub, Minnesota is one of the best places to raise a family.  What factors have contributed to this ranking?  It's certainly not the weather that is the draw.

Here are the main factors that the people who did this study took into consideration:

MEDIAN FAMILY SALARY

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

LOW CHILD CARE COSTS

FAMILIES WITH YOUNG KIDS

FEWEST VIOLENT CRIMES PER CAPITA (obviously they are looking at ALL of MN and not just the Twin Cities area)

LOW PERCENTAGE OF FAMILIES IN POVERTY

LOW DIVORCE RATE

All together the factors that the panel put together had these categories factored in: Family fun, health, education, affordability, and socio-economics.  Obviously Minnesota didn't come in at the top of all of these categories, but did come in significant enough to put the state of Minnesota in the top 5 specifically at number 4.

If you would like to see how all of this information specifically plays out, you can check out the website and what the top states are as well as what the worst states to raise a family are.
