I would have LOVED to have experienced the original Woodstock back in 1969, but I wasn't old enough. I did go to the 25th Anniversary in 1994, and it was pretty cool. I didn't go to the concert that was held in Saugerties, New York. Instead, a friend of mine and I went to the original site of Woodstock at Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, New York. They had a huge celebration with some of the original acts from 1969. I think some of the original hippies were still there as well. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. And I loved it.

This year, there will also be two celebrations August 16-18. There will be a huge 50th Anniversary 3 day concert in Watkins Glen, New York. More than 40 acts have already been booked.

The Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, at the site of the original Woodstock, has also announced a 50th anniversary show the same weekend. That's the one I would go to. For me, it's about the spirit of the original 1969 event that made history.

Were you there in 1969? 1994? Will you go this year?  Let's do it!
