Over the weekend, I went shopping at Crossroads Center Mall with my mom and sister. I hadn't been there since right before Christmas, so when we walked into the mall itself from the Target entrance I wasn't expecting to see a mini golf course set up.

There are five mini golf holes with various obstacles set up right outside of Target. Ramps, windmills, and lighthouses all make this tiny course just challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. During the first play-through of the holes you are to play the game as normal and then for the second playthrough there are special instructions on each hole to follow to make it a little wacky and fun. An example: one of the hole's rule is to play it with your eyes closed.

The cost to play is just $5, and the putters and balls are distributed via a colorful vending machine. There are four different sizes of putters making it easy for everyone in the family to play.

The course is set up by a company called Malligans, a play on the golf term mulligans, and I found another location set up at Rosedale Center Mall in Roseville.

There is no human attendant, it is all run through a machine making it playable during open mall hours. The Crossroads Mall is open Monday through Thursday 11 am - 7 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am - 8 pm, and Sundays 11 am - 6 pm.
