My wife and I just returned from a whirlwind vacation/one-year anniversary celebration to Europe, and boy was it a trip!

Over the course of 11 days we visited 4 countries -- Iceland, Ireland, London (England) and Paris (France). Each location was so unique and incredible, and we took plenty of photos to remember our trip by.

Here's part the fourth and final part of a four-part series highlighting five photos from our time in each stop.

After visiting Iceland, Ireland and London my wife Katie and I were off to the final destination of our Europe trip -- Paris, France.

Paris was a perfect way to end our trip; we loved everything about it. After busy, bustling and hectic London, Paris was quieter, more reserved, less quiet. There was a charm about it that we could physically sense. While we understood very little French, we were enraptured by the sound of it spoken and did our very best to use bits and phrases when we could.

Unlike very dirty Dublin, Paris was very clean, adding to the beauty of its history and architecture. Buildings like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Arc de Triumph were even more impressive in person.

Our first night in Paris, we stopped at a cafe for bakery items and a market for wine and had a picnic at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. It was an absolutely romantic settings and absolutely picture perfect. This is probably one of my favorite photos of our entire trip!

Our second day in Paris we visited Notre Dame Cathedral, another highlight of our trip. The building is absolutely incredible in person and the detail in the stonework amazing. Later that evening, we returned to climb to the top of the cathedral and found the most breath-taking view of Paris.

We also visited the Louvre during our full day in Paris. Most people, we learned, believe the Louvre to be the glass triangle in the middle of the square; actually, the Louvre is the entire art museum -- including the glass triangle and the building around it. The Louvre, we also learned, is the largest art museum in the world at 782,910 square feet. That said, we didn't actually spend any time in the museum itself, simply snapping a couple photos before moving on.

The Arc de Triumph was another impressive work of architecture. I couldn't believe how big it was! Isolated in the middle of a huge roundabout, you either had to run through traffic or take tunnels underneath. We would have loved to have gone to the top, but lines were long, and we had too much to see and do still.

Though our time in Paris was brief -- only two full days -- we thoroughly enjoyed our time, and these are only a fraction of the photos we took while there. Other highlights included the Eiffel Tower at night, Moulin Rouge, churches and cathedrals and plenty of shopping and cute cafes. Everything about Paris oozed charm, and we would happily return.
