ACK! Are Minnesotans Less Likely to Survive an Alien Invasion?
There's no denying that if aliens were to invade Earth, we'd all be absolutely screwed...eventually. A species that can travel through space versus a species that fights on social media? We dead.
However, would Minnesotans be among the FIRST to get probed to death, or among the LAST?
Minnesota: More Alien-Proof Than Nevada?
The nerds at Study Finds conducted a - you guessed it! - study to find out which U.S. states would be more resistant to an alien invasion. They nerded out gathered data based on UFO sightings, landscape and terrain, defense, science and medical resources, and food and beverage manufacturing...then tabulated all of that into an "alien survival score".
The most alien-resistant state in the U.S. is...Virginia. I wouldn't want to go there, either, even with a gravity-defying space ship.
Number Two on the list is also a state I'd avoid, even with all of the probes: Alabama.
Number Three? The Great Ope State. Ope-us Maximus. The Ope Ranch. Minnesota, baby! I'm sure we can once again thank the Mayo Clinic for boosting our butts up the list.
Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Alaska, and Georgia round out the Top 10.
Expecting Aliens? Don't Go to Nevada
The state with the lowest alien survival score? NEVADA. Yes, the home of Area 51 is absolutely hosed when the aliens finally get around to conquering Earth. Nevada doesn't have much in the way of natural cover (trees) and minimal water resources.
Our PO-TAY-TOES are also screwed, though: Idaho is #2; followed by Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Wyoming.
I'm sure there are plenty of Russells in Nevada, but unless you have access to a fighter jet and a major death wish...just go to Virginia.
