The news was announced Monday.

After 25 years in business, Minnesota's only The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Minneapolis is closing its doors.

The news came Monday via the restaurant's Minneapolis-location Facebook page and was confirmed by a representative for the national chain Tuesday.

"Yes, we are closing our Minneapolis location. Our last day of service will be August 24th, 2019," Bring Me the News quotes the Factory spokesperson. "The closure only applies to our Minneapolis location, our other locations continue to prosper and we are actively looking for new locations."

The reason for closing is cited as a short lease coming to an end. According to The Star Tribune, plans to renovate and fill the space with the Twin Cities' second location of Pinstripes are already in place.

The Old Spaghetti Factory's last day serving will be Saturday, August 24. Bring Me the News notes that -- while the Minneapolis location is Minnesota's only location -- the Portland-based Italian chain has restaurants around the country including Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah and Washington.

The Old Spaghetti Factory celebrates 50 years this year since opening its first location in Portland, Oregon in 1969.
