An incredible play made it onto NBC's "Sunday Night Football."

Friday night's home opener game against Sartell-St. Stephen may be one the Alexandria Cardinals remember all season.

Trailing 7-16 in the fourth quarter, a high snap had  junior quarterback Matthew Carlsen’s scrambling to recover the ball. He scooped it up about 15 yards back, ran to the left sideline and let it launch towards the endzone where it was tipped by a Sartell defender before finally settling in the arms of Alexandria's Evan Lattimer for a touchdown.

The play was recorded by sports and outdoor editor for the Echo Press Newspaper Eric Morken:

Alexandria would go on to win the game with a field goal for a final score of 17-16.

By the end of the night, ESPN's SportsCenter had shared the video on Twitter to their 32.5 million followers, and Sunday night NBC's "Sunday Night Football" featured the play during the Bears/Packers halftime show.
