Bear Spotted Wednesday Morning in Litchfield, MN [VIDEO]
A Litchfield man on his way to work Wednesday morning spotted what he thought was a large dog.
"Well that's a big dog," Cameron Lee Sundmark thought to himself. As he drove closer, however, he realized what it really was -- a black bear. In the video below, the bear lumbers across the road, down into a ditch, up the other side and across what appears to be a construction area.
In the video above -- which racked up nearly 100 comments and over 1K shares in just 5 hours -- the bear was spotted on St. Paul Street in Litchfield east of Anderson Chemical. According to other Facebook posts, it was also spotted running through the parking lot of Felling Trailer.
According to Bring Me the News, Litchfield Police Department chased the bear out of town; it was last seen heading north. A bear was also spotted about a week ago in Annandale, said Brandon Priebe in the comment section.
With Minnesota's recent Stay At Home orders, there's been an uptick in wild animal spottings around Minnesota. Over the weekend, the Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint of a T-rex on the loose at Coborns in Sartell. Last week a three-foot long Asian Water Monitor lizard was on the loose in Champlin, and the week before a bear was spotted hanging outside of Noodles & Company in Duluth.
All that to say, it seems Minnesota's "Stay Safe" order is taking on a new meaning entirely!
