CAMP RIPLEY -- Veterans, family, and friends are getting together to honor their service. Camp Ripley is hosting their Open House and Community Appreciation Day.

The event is held every other year. Staff Sergeant Tim Krouth says there will be a ceremony recognizing Korean War Veterans at 1:00 p.m.

"At 1:00 p.m. we're honoring Korean War veterans and their families in honor of their service during the Korean War being that it's from the forgotten war that took place over 60 years ago."

A valid driver’s license is needed to get in to the campgrounds. The open house is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The Minnesota National Guard training site in Camp Ripley is a few miles north of Little Falls, Minnesota. The event is free and open to everyone.

Krouth says there will be Humvee rides, and several military vehicles on display as well.
